Eat My Goals: 2012

We've been here before, but what the heck, let's give this another go, shall we?

In no particular order...

Running:

- Spartathlon qualification
- Bob Graham Round
- Ultra Race 100 (sort out my unfinished business!)
- Lyke Wake
- Injury free!

Fitness:

- Sub 7-min 2k row
- 30 Pull ups (not going to say 50, let's get to 30 and take it from there)
- Bodyweight bench press (5 sets of 5)
- 1.5 x bodyweight deadlift (5 sets of 5)

Other:

- Write a book - not aiming for a literary masterpiece, but there is something in particular I reckon I could do some damage with. It's in the early stages. In any case, will be under a pseudonym.

All in all, sounds like a bit of a wish list, and it may be that going for one or more of them will mean I don't get round to some of the others. Not really thought through that far.

No doubt it'll get whittled down over the coming 12 months as time/money/body gets its say.

Whaddya reckon? Doable? And what do you have on your list for 2012?

    Actually, not doable...you WON'T stay injury-free, the key is to manage injury effectively and stay positive.

  2. Cheers for the faith, Rich! Little niggles I can stand, just so long as my ITB stays under control. Prevention better than the cure, and all that, I'm building ITB work into all my gym routines.

  4. Have had a bit of a rethink on running goals. Reckon one biggie a year with a main aim to survive relatively unscathed. Decided to make this year my second attempt at Ultra Race 100...which is weekend of 23/24 June, so can't help out I'm afraid. Keep me posted though of recces. If I can make, I'll try and come along. Best of luck!

    Having said that, if I survive Ultra Race 100 in good order, I might start some hill specific work to go for a late (Sept?) BGR attempt. Not planning it yet. Will just wait & see how things go...
